Two services were held, one at Bradford O’Keefe in Ocean Springs, MS,\u00a0and another at Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News, VA.<\/p>\n

Text of Virginia Service<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Hello everyone, I\u2019m Bob Harwood, and Burleigh was my Dad.<\/p>\n

I want to thank you for joining the celebration of his life.<\/p>\n

He was simply just a Good Man!\u00a0 He lived life on his own terms.<\/p>\n

We are all sad he is gone but I am comforted by\u00a0two things:<\/p>\n

First: <\/em>At 83, he had a long, happy and healthy life.\u00a0 Whatever he wanted to do, he did it.<\/p>\n

Second: <\/em>He is finally back in the arms of the love\u00a0of his life, the woman who would do anything for him and the one he would do anything for.<\/p>\n

He was a wonderful husband, married for almost 58 years, they were still as in love as I imagined they were the day they were married.<\/p>\n

He was a good Father.\u00a0 He taught Ray and I the consequences and benefits of right and wrong and he led by example.<\/p>\n

He was a good provider.\u00a0 He made sure that\u00a0Mom, Ray and I did not do without but maintained the value of need vs. want.<\/p>\n

He was respectful and well respected.<\/p>\n

He was a man of honor.\u00a0 He was a good friend to many.\u00a0 It amazed\u00a0me the amount of people who came to visit him during his last days.<\/p>\n

He was a kind and generous man.\u00a0 I learned during his last days the lengths he went to to help people.<\/p>\n

His passion in life besides his wife and tennis,\u00a0he loved to play and he loved to teach,\u00a0especially to kids.\u00a0 He had the patience to work with them, always adjusting his teaching style to each person.<\/p>\n

He loved his family, brothers, sisters, and In-laws.<\/p>\n

All in all, Dad loved life.<\/p>\n

And above all he was a good tennis player!<\/p>\n

We will all miss him, we all loved him but we all have to move on with our lives while cherishing the memories we have of him.<\/p>\n
